Beautiful Liz is bringing out fabulous contrasts with her rich purple coloured frame.

ROCK STAR WARDROBE

On the theme "This is how I keep my glasses" , Jack's idea must be the one with the most Rock Star quality. Check it out, hanging on the guitar strings are his funky cool pairs.

FRAMED.... UNDER YOUR WINE GLASS!

Check it out! MR HUGO himself, exposed and framed on the coaster under the wine glass in one of Sydneys best nightspots Hugos (Night club of the year, 3 years in a row). Cool. Clearly notified of my faschination, the barman sent me off with the full selection of them.

Get the look
Psst. Wanna look like Mr Hugo? Get this frame called Buck (21063633, in all Specsavers stores) and you'd be pretty close.

STEP INTO MY WARDROBE

The actual way of storing my glasses has changed over the years; from using boxes and the “Billy” book shelve from my fellow country shop – IKEA – to a proper frame display I got from a friend and optometrist back home in Sweden. With a big wardrobe you never travel light and when I moved over to Melbourne some of my glasses (amongst all) had to be left behind. But – I’ve got all of my favourites with me.

Do it yourself!

Here, as you can see, I’ve used an old and beautiful picture frame bought in one of Melbourne’s Op-shops to build my new, Australian wardrobe. I took the back piece off, put hooks on the back side of the frame to tie the horizontal string where my frames are hanging. As a decorative background, I placed two colourful sheets of wrapping paper. Voila – the frames have been framed....! Easy Peasy!

CONFESSIONS OF A SPECS-O-HOLIC

Thanks Emma Vandenberg for making this fabulous art of me and my specs.

Ever since I was a little girl I’ve enjoyed experimenting with clothes, jewellery and accessories. From remaking my mum’s wedding dress into a cocktail dress (!!) to revelling among the treasures in second hand shops and grandma’s massive wardrobe, I’ve always enjoyed the fun of expressing myself through different outfits. When I was in the sixth grade I got glasses. Unlike my friends in a similar situation, I was thrilled - yet another accessory to play with! So, my slight obsession for glasses was there way before I started working for Specsavers six years ago - but it did mean a great environment for a specs-o-holic like me. Over the years I’ve build an impressive specs-wardrobe containing favourites over time, trends that have come and gone as well as some real classics.

I see my glasses as an obvious part of my wardrobe and it’s really fabulous seeing so many inspiring people on the streets, making their specs their personal signature. Therefore I also love sharing with you, photos of all lovely specs-wearers I’ve managed to frame in the office, on the street, in the crowds...

Psst. Much welcome to send photos of yourself wearing your favourite pairs....

THE NERDS ARE BACK IN TOWN....

While walking home from the Bebel Gilberto concert at the Melbourne art centre last night, I bumped into a whole bunch of nerds. Cool nerds, as you can see. Apparently there was a themed party going on further down the street but not even close enough catered for the nearly 1000 boys and girls dressed up in school uniforms and geek chic glasses. Sorry about the party guys but well done with the costumes. I hope you made the city people happy with your appearance instead!

FRAMED.... BARISTA IN BONDI

TWO PAIRS OF GLASSES IN TWO DAYS
Mr Barista in the Greek restaurant Bondi Blu not only makes delicious coffee, he also wear really cool glasses... if his stylish genes are brought over from Italy, I don't know, but certainly the Italians are generally a lot more daring and confident in bold, colorful specs than others...

The red pairs are Ray Bans but the white pair... Aldo, you are gonna have to fill me in here!

FRAMED.... COOL DUDE IN SYDNEY

How fresh is he? Check out the combo of shirt, waistcoat, tie and hat - topped with a real cool pair of glasses. Me like your style a lot, Carlton!
