HELLO ALEX PERRY & MELBOURNE, IM BACK

After a hectic couple of weeks in Europe (and having completed 10 flights in 10 days) I'm now back in Melbourne just in time for fashion week. Last night me and Liz went to see Alex Perry in the gorgeous Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton Gardens. What a stunning venue - last time I was there was for the Affordable Artfair 2010...

There was a lot of pretty glammed up people doing the red carpet thing before entering the building and a lot of stylish people as well spotted. Also, check out the Louboutins and chrystal heals I snapped from my seat..:-) Liz and I met up with Aimee & Annie from Smart and mingled a bit with the ladies from OpenHaus.

The Cuban-inspired spring show by Alex Perry was fantastic and presented to the Melbourne crowd with standing ovations. Opening the show did Megan Gale wearing a sophisticated white tulip dress followed by models in cute spring dresses in white or bold floral prints and silk skirts. The second half of the show presented gowns in flowy silk and vibrant colours with a prominent Havana flavor to it. I could easily do my salsa moves in one of those, although it would have to be shortened a lil bit..:-)

Tonight it's the menswear runway in Central Pier, Docklands presented by Specsavers and Peroni. The 20 best male models showing off the latest in menswear fashion will be escorted on the runway by Ms Helena Christensen - or vice verca..:-) It's gonna be fab!

Me in my Alex perry specs by the entrance, shot in Lomo Lomo by Liz's iPhone:)

GLASSES @ JEANS WEST FASHION SHOW

The Friday Jeans West fashion show (part of the Loreal Fashion Festival 2010) gave lots of inspiration for the coming season with both casual and dressy jeans wear. My personal favorite was the laced stockings back on the catwalk.

To my satisfaction one stylish model walked the fashion wearing a really cool pair of specs - Harry Potter style. Hoping to see more in the future 'cause what is a better style indicator for the season than the one you wear right in your face!

The most spectacular, colourful and sparkling specswearer this evening was still Karen Webster, Director of L'OrealMelbourne Fashion Week Festival, seated on front row. I sat just behind her (this image is a photograph from The Herald Sun, 21st of March, by Tony Gough) and really wanted to complement her style but she was a very wanted woman, meeting and greeting all the visiting fashionistas of the show. Hope Ill get the chance to meet her properly one day to have a chat about her specs...
