MILANO STYLE WATCH - PART 2

Me standing with lovely Sam from inspecs outside the super-cool Animal-caravan that was driven all the way from the UK to Milan.. Loving his outfit, the tie and the glasses combo, always a big fan of your style Sam!

Bryan (Everything I do, I do it for you....) Adams was in Milan and Mido to launch a new range of Titanium Eyewear so I took the opportunity to snuggle up with him... my mother-in law loves him so I had to at least get the picture:-)

Lovely Stig, buyer at Specsavers, is always looking so good with cool glasses and outfit. Maybee it's because he's Danish..:-)

Mr Lam from OKIA. Loving the checked glasses and jacket combo topped with a red scarfe! Nice!

Check out the inside of this guy's glasses - its the same colour as his sweater. Good matching-points there!

O, this lovely guy I was standing talking to for about 10 min's in English before we realized we were both Swedish..ha ha

Om du laser detta, snalla kan du mejla mig for jag har tappat bort min notebook med ditt namn, din mejl-address och allt intressant jag skrev ner.... tusen tack och kram fran Pernilla:-)

Sofia & Lin, really nice - and Swedish - ladies and glasses designers from EGO Optiska.

MILANO STYLE WATCH

Some stylish people I spotted in Milan and at MIDO (The big European Eyewear trade show). Sorry it's taken so long... Its been non-stop super hectic since i got back. Anyway, here they are and I've got more to come. Particularly love this first guy's hair, fur and 80s style gold-glasses combo... cool!

MIDO press photos

Hello everyone!

After a very nice, but quick, stop in Gothenburg I have now landed in Milano. It is exactly two years since last time so great to be back, although it is rather cold this time... I speak no Italiano but can very much read the italian linguaggio del corpo so getting around isn't that difficult:-)

I have two days of doing MIDO (the big European optical fair) with Specsavers buying team as well as checking out the latest in eyewear fashion. Unfortunately I have forgotten the cord to my camera (!!!) and have very little time before I have to go to my next destination so will have to share pic's and insights with you in a few days. But I promise it will be worth it.. I have already found loads of very stylish people wearing super cool glasses that I have photographed so that I can show you how many style impressions you can bring with you from this place.

I can also tell you that I am doing a very good job combining business with pleasure... well, maybe not so much "pleasure" when it comes to the endless walking you have to do (this place is MASSIVE and there are so many halls to get through...sore feet) but at least it means I get some exercise. Which works very nicely in combination with the pleasure-part in my statement.... PASTA! OMG... I feel like Julia Roberts in Eat, Pray, Love. Only thing is that I have not had time to buy new, bigger pair of jeans but in the meantime, tights are working perfectly:-)

Tjingeling!

MOVIESTAR NIGHT

Image borrowed from google.com

YEAH...managed to get tickets to the big gala opening of the fair, with the team "movie stars". Movie Icons such as Greta Garbo, James Dean and Audrey Hepburn was projected on the big walls in the salon and the show included acting, singing and circus art. The evening also pretty much framed all the big trends we´ll see in the nearest future; "Moviestar glamour" a´la Sophia Lauren with her feminine round shaped frames, "Wayfarer, the survivor" and Audrey Hepburns iconic maxi sunglasses. So, bring out the old classics because vintage, retro and elegant luxury is what will frame our eyes next season!

HOW TO BUY GLASSES FOR OVER 1000 STORES IN 6 CONTRIES

Finally there, after some issues with metro strike, loud rugby fans and trying to dump our luggage somewhere... Have now met up with the buying team who where all ready to hit the fair.

As a buyer you very much fo for the first impression when you look at new styles. Simply because that´s how the customers work. It´s also important to imagine who the customer is, try and visualize the person you are buying for. Interesting but difficult process... but this team is good.... after all, they do buy glasses for more than 1000 stores in the UK, Ireland, Holland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

MILANO - HERE I COME

Time for MIDO, spring optical fair in Milano. I will join Specsavers buying team in their process of sourcing new products for next season. I will also meet some designers and check out what´s new in the glasses jungle! Stay tuned!
