THE ALEX PERRY 2012 COLLECTION - LAUNCH @ MARBLE BAR, SYDNEY
In a dramatic, dark setting at Marble Bar in Sydney, the Alex Perry 2012 collection, exclusively designed for Specsavers, was launched last night. To the tunes of Marilyn Manson, the new designs were seductively showcased on the shimmering catwalk. Around 80 VIP guests, including Megan Gale, Sarah Murdock and Kerri-Anne Kennerley, enjoyed trying on the new, stunning glasses after Alex himself introduced the new collection on stage.
The new collection is available across Australia and New Zealand, exclusively in all Specsavers stores, from today!

NEW GLASSES FROM ALEX PERRY
At the moment, we are loving the latest, new glasses designed for Specsavers by Alex Perry.
AP 05 in jet black with sharp metal front, black acetate sides with crystal overlay and diamante studs is perfect for evening as well as for dressy day wear. Works a dream with the structured black suit or with the white dress as a contrast. (Psst. Also available in turquoise)
AP 15s sharp silver version with beautiful filigree on the arms, imbedded in translucent / crystal acetate brings out stunning contrasts of delicate, intricate detailing with a powerful shape. The version in purple has the same filigree detailing on the arms, in gold, but with a gradient purple acetate disappearing behind the ear and it is one of my favorites!
Available in all Specsavers stores in November 2011!

HELLO ALEX PERRY & MELBOURNE, IM BACK
After a hectic couple of weeks in Europe (and having completed 10 flights in 10 days) I'm now back in Melbourne just in time for fashion week. Last night me and Liz went to see Alex Perry in the gorgeous Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton Gardens. What a stunning venue - last time I was there was for the Affordable Artfair 2010...
There was a lot of pretty glammed up people doing the red carpet thing before entering the building and a lot of stylish people as well spotted. Also, check out the Louboutins and chrystal heals I snapped from my seat..:-) Liz and I met up with Aimee & Annie from Smart and mingled a bit with the ladies from OpenHaus.
The Cuban-inspired spring show by Alex Perry was fantastic and presented to the Melbourne crowd with standing ovations. Opening the show did Megan Gale wearing a sophisticated white tulip dress followed by models in cute spring dresses in white or bold floral prints and silk skirts. The second half of the show presented gowns in flowy silk and vibrant colours with a prominent Havana flavor to it. I could easily do my salsa moves in one of those, although it would have to be shortened a lil bit..:-)
Tonight it's the menswear runway in Central Pier, Docklands presented by Specsavers and Peroni. The 20 best male models showing off the latest in menswear fashion will be escorted on the runway by Ms Helena Christensen - or vice verca..:-) It's gonna be fab!

ALEX PERRY IN DAZZLING SYDNEY EVENT

Thanks everyone who attended the dazzling event when Alex Perry launched his new eyewear collection for Specsavers last week, high tea style. Luxe studios in Sydney was buzzing with excitement when Australia's top fashion media was given a sneak peak of the glasses. The collection was presented via a series of three live installations that brought to life the design cues behind the range and features gorgeous models wearing the fabulous glasses.
Alex greeted the guest before taking them on a guided tour. The first installation featured models wearing the femme fatale frames a'la Mad Men's Betty Draper. Alex then diverted our attention to a green jeep and "everyday glamour" with models sporting a touch of military chic, subtle sparkles and nude colours. The spotlight then swept over to the red carpet (above) where the models exuded the dazzling glamour of evening wear.
Two of the excited minglers in the crowd was beautiful Kerri-Anne Kennerly and Australia's next top model judge Charlotte Dawson, both cheering the opportunities with wearing glasses as a style statement.
To me, it was a true delight to finally get to tell the world about what we have been working on for over a year with Alex. I almost felt a bit sentimental while doing my little speak next to Alex. The glasses are truly stunning and I can't wait to see it worn by stylish people out there! The collection will be available in all Specsavers stores in Australia and New Zealand from Monday 28th of February.
