Neighbours starlet Margot Robbie smouldered in a scorching hot photo shoot for Specsavers this year. The shoot was part of the launch of the Specsavers Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition and was a world away from Margot’s girl-next-door character Donna on the international hit soap opera.

Head of PR at Specsavers, Heather Potter, says “We wanted to show people a side of Margot they’d never seen before and demonstrate that glasses can be a fantastic fashion accessory and also downright sexy. Margot looked absolutely incredible in specs and no doubt she’ll inspire others to do so too”.

“A lot of people who saw the photos didn’t even recognise Margot at first. She looked so different in our fashion shoot compared with the natural, fresh-faced beauty she plays on Neighbours.”

Margot said wearing glasses gave her a chance to be a style chameleon.

“I wear mine purely for aesthetics because I like the way they spice up an outfit and transform my look. I’m definitely not alone in realising the fashion potential of specs.”

I couldn’t agree more – I think she look drop dead gorgeous!

She looks absolutely fabulous in her stunning fashion and has earned real icon status with her glasses. Although I do like to mix and match and change accessories and stuff I would like to find myself an icon-pair of glasses. Something that kinda define my, myself and my personality... Perhaps become "that girl with those amazing pair of glasses"... Hmm.. I'll get back to you on that one, once Ive found the pair with icon-potential. I might even let you judge...

GLASSES - ON OR OFF?

When it comes to wearing glasses to the party, to a date or even if you’re a TV presenter, more and more wearers tend to keep them on nowadays. This is a crystal clear trend and a great development, seeing that glasses have massively increased their fashion credentials, especially over the past few years. Of course, there are situations when glasses are not that practical; during swimming and other kind of sporting activities.There is also a very special occasion, when accessories, clothes, shoes and jewellery are so carefully chosen, only the absolute best of the best make it to the lime light; your wedding!

You hear these ancient stories about brides walking down the aisle with guests, priest and groom in a blurry mess, just because they didn’t want their glasses to cover their eyes during this big moment. Today though, technology has given us much better contact lenses that suit more and more people, and at least the blurry moments can be avoided. But are glasses really a mis-fit to your bride or groom’s outfit? What do you think? I guess the second big question to pop is; glasses - on or off?

My new favorite place - the cool, beautifully furnished Salfords Lads Club - is not only just around the corner from the office in Port Melbourne but they also make world class coffeas! Tom, the Barista, is framed in glasses above...

If you recognize the name it might be from the over 100 years old recreational club in Salford / Greater Manchester (England) - originally only for the lads but today girls are welcome too. Perhaps this is the reason why the stylish caf Salford Lads Club in Melbourne is strategically well located on the route for all cyclists and fixie bikes are decorating the wall's and corners. And If I'm not mistaken, there might be some food activities as well in the nearest future as it looked like Greg, the owner, was working on a beautiful, big pizza oven... stay tuned!

HAUTE FRENCH FRIES

Just wanted to share with you my creation of the weekend - french stripes on cushions! As we are all mad about the french look at the moment, I thought I'd take it to another level... Don't they look fab with stripey T-shirt, jacket (Lady GaGa style from Zara) and black bold specs?!

ANOTHER KIND OF ACCESSORY

I just can't resist posting a little bit on a different accessory today.

My friend Dave, he has got the most spectacular collection of Casio watches. The cult watch from the 90ies is a favorite for a fair few coolios and it's signature shape have made inspiration for some of the "modern" retro styles you see today. To me, it brings back the memories from school and the fabulous casio calculator that could calculate the equations as well... amazing little machine.

Now I'm just waiting for Dave to get a pair of specs to match with each and ever one of his beautiful casio's.
