My new favorite place - the cool, beautifully furnished Salfords Lads Club - is not only just around the corner from the office in Port Melbourne but they also make world class coffeas! Tom, the Barista, is framed in glasses above...

If you recognize the name it might be from the over 100 years old recreational club in Salford / Greater Manchester (England) - originally only for the lads but today girls are welcome too. Perhaps this is the reason why the stylish caf Salford Lads Club in Melbourne is strategically well located on the route for all cyclists and fixie bikes are decorating the wall's and corners. And If I'm not mistaken, there might be some food activities as well in the nearest future as it looked like Greg, the owner, was working on a beautiful, big pizza oven... stay tuned!

HAUTE FRENCH FRIES

Just wanted to share with you my creation of the weekend - french stripes on cushions! As we are all mad about the french look at the moment, I thought I'd take it to another level... Don't they look fab with stripey T-shirt, jacket (Lady GaGa style from Zara) and black bold specs?!

ANOTHER KIND OF ACCESSORY

I just can't resist posting a little bit on a different accessory today.

My friend Dave, he has got the most spectacular collection of Casio watches. The cult watch from the 90ies is a favorite for a fair few coolios and it's signature shape have made inspiration for some of the "modern" retro styles you see today. To me, it brings back the memories from school and the fabulous casio calculator that could calculate the equations as well... amazing little machine.

Now I'm just waiting for Dave to get a pair of specs to match with each and ever one of his beautiful casio's.

I would love to see some statistics on people wearing specs in Hong Kong because, quite frankly, every 8 out of 10 people I bump into on the streets are wearing really cool, bold specs (my own statistics). I've always said that if you want to see real enthusiasm to eyewear you've gotta go to either Milan or Paris. But, this cosmopolitan, dazzling place takes being adventurous in their visual expressions to a whole new level - and especially the men. Like these two above!

Unfortunately I've had a smaller disaster with the photos I took from the streets of Hong Kong - don't even want to go into it as it's still making my female hysteria bubble in me but I can tell you that since then I have been shopping for a brand new beautiful camera (Nikon). Sorry to you stunning people who won't appear here this time - but will for sure look out for you again next time Im back.

I've got hot news for you! The collaboration between Country Road and Specsavers will soon be demonstrated to the audience in the form of a brand new eyewear collection: Country Road Eyewear Collection 2010 - exclusively designed for Specsavers in Australia and New Zealand.
The new collection will be available in all Specsavers stores within the next couple of weeks.

THE QUEEN

HAPPY BIRTHDAY QUEEN ELIZABETH!

So, to honor the Queen of England and her birthday I dressed up especially for the occasion. The fancy dress party I went to last night said `Queen Theme`and there was a Bee Queen, Queen of hearts, Freddy Mercury from Queen... and, Im very pleased to say that I was the only real Queen. The lovely frame KERRY came in very handy as well - completed the outfit.

SKY VISION

Anyone who spent the Sunday on Flinders Lane could not miss this peculiar vision. People wearing what looked like the very first camera on their heads walked along the street in groups of five (four camera heads and one leader).

Curious as I am I had to ask what they were up to and apparently it was some kind of periscope looking up in the sky...

Anyone knows what this is? Maybee even tried one for themselves... I'm so so curious what they discovered:-)

Sweet Marlo had her glam Birthday celebration in decadent The Carlton on Bourke st in Melbourne. I felt that clearly, on a special day like this she needed some suitable, spectacular specs. So, with a golden ribbon and a sparkly long necklace wrapped around the frame and a shiny, golden chain (so not to loose them in the later hours) I made Marlo some real eye couture especially designed for her!
